slightly south of northern-most breeding range

Number of Occurrences

Taglu Island (2013), Anderson River Delta (2006), Norman Wells, 2010, 2011), Wrigley (1977), Yellowknife (breeding - to be confirmed), Ft Providence, Hay River, Ft Smith, Ft Liards, Ft Simpson, Rabbitkettle Lake (NNPR) (W113); Observed most frequently in the communities in the south (Fort Smith, Hay River, Fort Providence, Yellowknife, Fort Simpson, Fort Liard), with a few scattered records outside of these settlements. Casual in the north with records from Norman Wells, Inuvik, Kendall Island, the Anderson River Delta and Paulatuk. The first record for the NWT was a bird found dead near the Salt Plains in Wood Buffalo NP on 27 April 1954. (NWT Bird checklist project)
