General distribution possible Holarctic, but several species may be involved. In Canada, the species has been recorded from the NWT, British Columbia, and Ontario. Christiansen & Bellinger (1980) questioned the identity of Nearctic and European specimens treated as V. arboreus (in Babenko et al. 2019).
