Using traditional knowledge and science to study fish.

The Deninu Kue First Nation in Fort Resolution is collaborating with Fisheries and Oceans Canada to study fish in Great Slave Lake. Research includes monitoring fish population numbers, ecosystem quality, and cumulative changes over time. This research is partly funded by the GNWT’s Cumulative Impact Monitoring Program (NWT CIMP).

NWT CIMP is a source of environmental monitoring and research information. Project results are used to help understand and respond to changing environmental conditions at local, regional and territorial scales. More information can be found at www.nwtcimp.ca
