Update (22JAN2019): The Inspector (Joseph Heron) inspected the spill site and the area appears to have been properly cleaned up and the hydrocarbon impacted materials properly disposed of (Photos #1 & #2 - Attached). The Inspector was informed the impacted material was scraped up with equipment and deposited of at the Ekati Mine Contaminated Snow Containment Facility (CSCF). No further concerns were noted by the Inspector as it seemed the spilled material was adequately addressed and deposited into an approved disposal facility. The Inspector recommends closure of Spill 2019-018.
