Second call received regarding this incident by ECCC NEEC DGW on 2022-04-22 at 14:01 MDT Caller: Mike Byrne, citizen, 867-873-6584 (caller would like to remain anonymous, but is okay with sharing his information to government officials in case they need to call him for additional information) Caller is reporting a burnt side by side in Yellowknife Bay and has approximate coordinates (62°27'46.0"N 114°19'45.0"W). Caller states there is also an article on a local medial website called "Cabin Radio" that has additional information about the incident. The machine burnt about a month ago and sat on the ice for almost a month. Caller could see it from his window. One day recently, the caller noticed that the frame of the side by side was gone. Yesterday, the caller went to visit the site. While the frame is gone, caller can see a pile of burned debris left on the ice, including plastics and many contaminants. Caller has the name of the owner of the machine, it is Grant Beck. Grant has a local business called Beck's Sled dogs Kennels and Tours, and his number is 867-873-5603. Caller is concerned that if the debris stays much longer, it will become imbedded in the ice as it warms and be too late to remove. Caller has offered to obtain more precise coordinates if needed, but states the location should be easy to find as there is nothing else in the area. It is between the East side of Jolliffe Island and the East shore of Yellowknife.
