Spill report updated by ECCC NEEC LTa Caller name: Kurtis Beveridge Caller organisation: METNUNA JV Caller number: 613-806-0654 Caller is reporting a possible error in the report. Caller explains that the report indicates that the damage is due to weather. However, there was a damage to the liner where the water was siting, and the water rose due to rain. Caller indicates the spill is due to the hole in the liner caused by equipment damage. Caller further explains that the report given to ECCC was verbal, therefore there might have been a sort of miscommunication or difference in interpretation of the oral report. Caller indicates that the internal report to DeBeers does not match the report in the Spill Line (Caller indicated the cause was due to the equipment whereas the Spill Line indicates the cause was due to weather). Moving forward, all reports will be in written format. Caller adds that they took samples in 3 separate locations in the area. The status of those samples will be made available either this week or next week and will be communicated to ECCC then (they were testing for nitrates and other contaminants).
