This spills file is being closed. The site was inspected under Fisheries Act authority, fuel staining and drill cuttings that had been observed on the ice of Tetcela Creek was scraped off the ice by the road construction crews working for NorZinc prior to inspection. The ice was clean upon inspection, evidence of drill holes were observed, no sheen present on water within the holes. NorZinc confirmed that they will not conduct drilling activities in the riverbed without proper authorization from Parks Canada. As the fuel and drill cuttings were removed before the ice melted into the creek, there is no FA violation, and hence this file will be closed.
