Coltan Lorenz sent me photos and gave me information on the spill as ECCC was the ones that discovered it when conducting an inspection on the fuel tanks. ECCC observed multiple leaking fittings which were fairly minor but some appeared to be occuring for a long time. This ended up with quite a bit of staining and hydrocarbons around the area. One of the diesel pumps ruptured this past winter. ADK wasn't able to provide an estimate on the amount released. The hydrocarbons were migrating away from the tank and the puddle on the North side has some sheening and emulsified fuel. ADK was able to repair the leaking components, they put down some sorbent pads in the puddle near the tank and removed the contaminated. ADK plans to excavate any contaminated soil once the rest of the snow around the tank melts.
