Policy statement recognizing aboriginal traditional knowledge is valid and an essential source of information and will be incorporated into GNWT decisions and actions, where appropriate.
The protocol provides the requirements for acceptance of drums and tanks at municipal landfill. The municipal authority must also provide approval prior to landfill disposal.
The NWT Climate Change Strategic Framework Action Plan 2019-2023 (Action Plan) puts into motion the vision of the 2030 NWT Climate Change Strategic Framework (Framework). This 2019-2023 Action Plan guides the implementation of the Framework over the next five years, and is intended to present a broad summary of all significant climate change actions underway and areas for future collaboration in the NWT. A subsequent Action Plan will be developed, in conjunction with partners, to cover the period from 2025 to 2029. The Action Plan builds on the goals and priorities established in the Framework and reflects the input received during an engagement process conducted from April to August 2018. Extensive input was received from within the GNWT and preliminary information was provided by partners identified below. During the implementation of this Action Plan, further collaboration with partners and potential partners will be a priority to develop areas for future collaboration into concrete actions.
