Yellowknife (January 25, 2013) – The Departments of Health and Social Services and the Sahtu Health and Social Services Authority have responded to an increased rate of skin infections  in Colville Lake

“I am pleased with the coordinated response from health care officials including home support, nurse practitioners and physicians and local authority staff. It is encouraging to see a team effort mobilize and respond,” said Minister of Health and Social Services, Tom Beaulieu.

(Yellowknife)   February  7th,  2012  –  The  Legislative  Assembly  and  the  Government  of  the Northwest Territories are celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne. This anniversary is known as the Diamond Jubilee.

November 7, 2011 - Premier Bob McLeod and the Cabinet of the 17^th Legislative Assembly held a day-long planning retreat at the Sah Naji Kwe Lodge near Behchoko on Nov. 3, 2011. Discussions included approaches to engaging with NWT Aboriginal leaders, the timeline around establishing a Cabinet agenda for implementing the priorities of the 17^th Legislative Assembly, improving government communications, Devolution and managing relations with federal, provincial and territorial governments.

October 28, 2011 - Premier Bob McLeod says the Legislative Assembly will be the forum in which elected leaders can find and reach consensus for the good of the NWT.

In his first statement to the 17th Legislative Assembly as Premier, Mr. McLeod said that while challenges will be significant, the collective will to make things better for the NWT residents is strong.

“I am encouraged by the good will shown by Members and Aboriginal Leaders, to find better ways of working together,” he said.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today, on behalf of all Members of Cabinet, to once again congratulate and thank all Members of this House.  We are grateful for and humbled by your support, and we pledge to work hard, in cooperation with all Members, in the service of all of the people and communities of the Northwest Territories.

October 28, 2011 - Premier Bob McLeod was host to his first international visitors yesterday. Mr. Susumu Fukuda, Consul General of Japan, and his wife Mrs. Alicia Fukuda came to witness the swearing in ceremony of the 17th Assembly's Premier and Cabinet.
 

October 27, 2011 - Premier Bob McLeod, and Ministers Michael Miltenberger, Jackson Lafferty, Tom Beaulieu, Glen Abernethy, David Ramsay, and Robert C. McLeod were officially sworn in today by Commissioner Tuccaro after being elected by their peers in yesterday’s elections.

Formal motions to ratify the appointments to the Executive Council were also brought forward in the House and passed by Members of the 17th Legislative Assembly.
