This lightning caused fire is approximately 1400 hectares in size – growing quickly under extreme fire weather since discovery beyond initial attack. It is highly visible in Gameti – but there are currently no threats to communities, cabins, or infrastructure. The fire is being monitored for values protection. With southerly winds through evening, it is not expected to grow closier to Gameti in the short-term. Overnight, a shift to northwesterly winds is forecast to come with some showers and a rise in moisture which should limit fire activity.
