Investments in Efficiency and Alternative Energy Reduce GNWT Dependency on Fossil Fuels

YELLOWKNIFE (June 7, 2013) – The GNWT is on track to reduce the use of heating fuel in its buildings by 13.5 million litres by the end of 2013/14. This decreases greenhouse-gas emissions by more than 36,000 tons since the government first started tracking its fuel and greenhouse gas reductions in 2007.

Corridors For Canada III proposal for federal infrastructure funding released

YELLOWKNIFE (June 6, 2013) – The Government of the Northwest Territories is seeking an investment in transportation infrastructure of $600 million over ten years under the federal New Building Canada Fund. Minister of Transportation David Ramsay released the funding proposal, Corridors for Canada III: Building for Prosperity, in the Legislative Assembly today.
