Mr. Speaker, transportation infrastructure plays a crucial role in connecting people, ensuring effective supply chains and creating opportunities for economic growth.

Today I would like to highlight recent successes in our continued efforts to improve the transportation networks towards to improve accessibility and road safety across the territory.

Vince McKay: 2024 Arctic Winter Games

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize the athletes, coaches, and mission staff who are representing Team NT at the 2024 Arctic Winter Games in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, Alaska from March 10 to 16, 2024. 

The Arctic Winter Games provide an opportunity for Team NT to engage and compete with other athletes from the circumpolar region. Not only are the Games an athletic competition for athletes, it also provides an opportunity to promote cultural and social exchange among youth from all parts of the North.  

Caitlin Cleveland: Reaching Average $10 a Day Child Care in the NWT

Mr. Speaker, the Government of the Northwest Territories made a mandate commitment in 2019 to advance universal child care by increasing availability and affordability.

It is my great privilege today to announce that starting April 1st, licensed child care in the Northwest Territories will cost an average of $10-a-day.
