YELLOWKNIFE (March 4, 2013) – The Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) is accepting nominations for the 2013 Education Hall of Fame. Seven individuals or groups will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year, including one from each region and one Minister’s Choice inductee.
“We have excellent educators, board members, advocates, students and custodians all across our great territory who continually make a difference in the field of education,” said Minister of ECE Jackson Lafferty. “We would not be able to achieve our Assembly’s goal of healthy, educated people without them and want to honour their contributions to the Northwest Territories education system.”
The nomination deadline is April 15, 2013. Electronic nomination forms are available on ECE’s website at www.ece.gov.nt.ca and at regional ECE Service Centres and District Education Council offices. A selection committee including representatives from ECE, Aurora College and the Superintendent’s Association will review nominations and select inductees.
Successful nominees will be announced in May and an induction ceremony will take place May 30, 2013 in the Great Hall of the Legislative Assembly.
