FORT MCPHERSON (November 30, 2012) – Four Fort McPherson residents were honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal on Saturday, November 24th .
Frederick (Sonny) Blake, MLA Mackenzie Delta, presented medals during community feast to:

- Hazel Nerysoo
- James M. Ross
- Mary Teya
This commemorative medal has been created by the Government of Canada to recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements of 60,000 deserving Canadians of all ages and from all walks of life. This medal program is one of the elements of the year-long Diamond Jubilee celebrations, and a list of NWT recipients is available on the GNWT’s website.
