Environment and Natural Resources continue to assess and plan operations for the fire near Reid Lake. Today teams are preparing for a potential burnout operation. Conditions over the next few days will determine when the action can be conducted.

Extremely dry conditions across the Northwest Territories have led to high to extreme wildfire danger in most forested areas of the territory. Various government departments are working to coordinate resources and response to these wildfires.
