Communiqués de presse

September 28, 2011 - Premier Floyd K. Roland has accepted the resignation of Jeff Polakoff as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Northwest Territories Housing Corporation (NWTHC).

Mr. Polakoff joined the NWTHC as President and CEO in June 2006, moving to the position of Deputy Minister of Municipal and Community Affairs in June 2008 before returning to the NWTHC in August 2009.

“Mr. Polakoff has been responsible for managing many initiatives designed to improve access to housing for people across the NWT,” said Premier Roland. “I would like to thank Mr. Polakoff for his dedicated service to the people of the Northwest Territories and wish him well in his retirement.”

During his time with the NWTHC, Mr. Polakoff led efforts to improve responsiveness to client and community needs and improve coordination and strategic approaches in implementing housing activities in the NWT, including implementing the $100 million Affordable Housing Initiative, introducing the Housing Choices Program and overseeing the return of the Public Housing Rental Subsidy Program to the NWTHC. Most recently he has led the Corporation in work related to the Shelter Policy Review.

Mr. Polakoff will continue to serve as NWTHC President until the next Premier names his replacement and will complete the transition of duties at that time.
