April 6, 2011 - Dr. David Pontin, emergency room physician at the Stanton Territorial Hospital, and Ms. Caroline Newberry, Senior Communicable Disease Specialist, will hold a press conference to discuss the issue of superbugs in the NWT.
Superbugs cause infections and diseases, and are increasingly prevalent outside of hospital settings. A particularly aggressive superbug is found in the NWT.
Dr. Pontin will discuss MRSA from a clinician’s perspective and Ms. Newberry will provide up-to-date information about superbugs and how to prevent their spread.
