GNWT honours NWT Public Servants at Annual Premier's Awards

YELLOWKNIFE (June 15, 2016) – The annual Premier’s Awards were held in the Great Hall of the Legislative Assembly this morning as a part of the GNWT’s week-long celebration of National Public Service Week.

The Premier’s Award for Excellence recognizes the outstanding achievement of individual GNWT employees or teams of GNWT employees who continue to strive for excellence, best practice management and improvements in the workplace.

The Premier’s Award for Collaboration recognizes the outstanding achievement of GNWT employees in teams who work in partnership with other government and non-government employees to improve services to Northwest Territories’ residents.

The Dave Ramsden Career Excellence Award recognizes the outstanding achievements of individuals in the Northwest Territories who have served 20 years or more in the Government of the Northwest Territories public service. The goal of this award is to recognize individuals who have made a commitment to their careers in the public service.

The Commissioner’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration recognizes a public sector practitioner whose career exhibits the highest standard of excellence, dedication and accomplishment. The Commissioner of the Northwest Territories is patron of this Institute of Public Administration of Canada NWT Regional Group award.

The Honourable Bob McLeod was on hand to present the Premier’s Awards and the Dave Ramsden Award. The Commissioner’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration was presented by Mr. George Tuccaro, former Commissioner of the NWT.

The GNWT is committed to providing excellent public service to residents of the Northwest Territories and is proud of the contributions of all NWT public servants.
