Department Information
The Department of Finance has the mandate to provide leadership and direction to the public service in all areas of finance and human resource management. This mandate includes negotiating major financial arrangements with the federal government, providing analysis and advice to the Financial Management Board, and ensuring that financial and information resources are managed effectively, efficiently and economically. This mandate also includes the recruitment and retention of a competent public service that is representative of the people it serves and the development of programs and services that effectively serve the human resource needs of the public service.
Job Information
The Department of Finance is seeking a detail-oriented Contracts Administrator to support the Procurement Shared Services (PSS) team.
In this role, you will ensure that all contracting and tendering activities are accurate, timely and fully compliant with the Government of Northwest Territories (GNWT) legislation, procurement policies, procedures, and land claim agreements. You will administer the tendering and Request for Proposal process for GNWT Departments, Boards, and Agencies. Your work will directly support the GNWT contracting objectives by strengthening risk management, enhancing vendor access and competition, supporting northern businesses, while upholding fairness and transparency.
Key Qualifications:
- Progressive experience (2-3 years) in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Contract Management and Administration in the public or private sector combine course work through Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) of Canada.
Equivalencies:
- Relevant Diploma with 2 years of related experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Contract Management and Administration in the public or private sector.
- Relevant Certificate with 3 years of related experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Contract Management and Administration in the public or private sector.
- High School with 4 years of related experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Contract Management and Administration in the public or private sector.
- All other equivalencies will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $40.68 per hour to $48.60 per hour (approximately $79,326 - $94,770) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
