Job Information
The Speech Language Pathologist provides assessment, treatment, and education services for people of all ages with communication disorders. The work is done following professional standards and NTHSSA guidelines.
The role involves working both independently and as part of a health care team to provide direct patient care, support families and caregivers, and help improve communication and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
¿ Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
¿ Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices
¿ Deliver services to inpatients, outpatients, and community clients across all age groups
¿ Educate patients, families, caregivers, and health care providers on communication disorders and treatment strategies
¿ Design and deliver educational materials, workshops, and community education initiatives
¿ Collaborate with physicians, nurses, educators, and other allied health professionals
¿ Act as a clinical resource and provide consultation to health care teams and community partners
Key Qualifications
¿ Master¿s Degree in Speech Language Pathology
¿ Certification with the Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (CASLPA)
¿ Knowledge of assessment and intervention for a wide range of communication disorders
¿ Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and organizational skills
¿ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
¿ Experience providing education and consultation to patients, families, and professionals
¿ Ability to manage workload priorities in a dynamic health care environment

This level of knowledge is typically acquired through the successful completion of a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
Additional Requirements
¿ Certified member of the Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (CASLPA)
¿ Successful completion of a criminal record check
¿ Ability to obtain and maintain required health care certifications within a reasonable timeframe

Labour Market Supplement
The successful incumbent will receive a $11,000 supplement upon hire and an additional $11,000 supplement after completion of 12 months of continuous employment contingent on remaining employed in an eligible position for a further 12 months. This is a taxable benefit and will be subject to applicable deductions.
Term Position
This job opening is for a one (1) year term.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $54.44 per hour to $65.03 per hour (approximately $106,158- $126,809) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $7,273.
