The Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) provides the residents of the Northwest Territories with access to quality programs, services and support to assist them in making informed and productive choices for themselves and their families with regard to education, training, careers, employment and labour, child development, languages, culture and heritage.
Job Information
This position maintains revenue and collection accounts of the Student Financial Assistance Program and other Income Security Programs.
The incumbent is required to interpret relevant legislation, policies and procedures and provides advise to the public, program delivery staff and management.
Not only will you experience a high volume of inquiries regarding loan account status and balance, but you will also be required to work overtime.
Key Requirements
Knowledge of and/or the ability to acquire and apply knowledge of GNWT, ECE and division practices as they relate to customer service, allowable data request, privacy and access to information, allowable use of electronic tools and financial accountability.
Knowledge of load collection principles and practices.
Decision making, problem solving, calculating, record keeping and report writing skills.
Written communications skills for each items as presenting remission recommendations, documenting transactions, and preparing correspondence.
Ability to acquire and apply understanding of relevant Human Resources legislation, policies and procedures.
Ability to commit to actively upholding and consistently practicing personal diversity, inclusion and cultural awareness, as well as safety and sensitivity approaches in the workplace.
Key Qualifications
A Business Administration or Commerce post secondary diploma and one (1) year of relevant experience.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $42.17 per hour to $50.36 per hour (approximately $82, 232 - $98, 202.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
