Join a dynamic critical care team committed to delivering excellence in patient care. As an ICU RN, you'll provide high-level nursing to critically ill patients in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment. This role demands clinical expertise, compassionate care, and leadership in both emergency response and everyday operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive critical care: Assess, plan, implement, document, and evaluate care for ICU patients; perform assessments; initiate orders and consults; ensure continuity of care through clear communication and reporting.
- Support patient-centered care: Promote dignity, autonomy, and culturally sensitive care while addressing physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs; ensure equitable and ethical treatment.
- Maintain safety and compliance: Apply IPAC practices, maintain a safe environment, follow SOPs and documentation standards, and protect patient confidentiality under the Health Information Act.
- Deliver patient and family education: Assess learning needs, provide individualized teaching, develop educational resources, and coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Lead and support the healthcare team: Act as Team Leader when required; supervise, delegate, support staff, ensure adequate staffing, and promote teamwork and communication across departments.
- Respond to critical and emergency situations: Participate in MET and Code Blue teams and provide critical care support across hospital units as needed.
- Promote professional practice and development: Mentor staff and students, support orientation, participate in committees and research, and advocate for safe, ethical care environments.
Key Qualifications:
· A Nursing Degree with a Minimum of one (1) year recent experience in Intensive/Critical Care Unit
· A certificate in Critical Care Nursing
Certifications:
· Current registration with CANNN before commencement of employment is mandatory.

Labour Market Supplement
The successful incumbent will receive a $10,000 supplement upon hire and an additional $10,000 supplement after completion of 12 months of continuous employment contingent on remaining employed in an eligible position for a further 12 months. This is a taxable benefit and will be subject to applicable deductions

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $54.44 per hour to $65.03 per hour (approximately $106,158. - $126,809.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
