Department Information
The Department of Finance has the mandate to provide leadership and direction to the public service in all areas of finance and human resource management. This mandate includes negotiating major financial arrangements with the federal government, providing analysis and advice to the Financial Management Board, and ensuring that financial and information resources are managed effectively, efficiently and economically. This mandate also includes the recruitment and retention of a competent public service that is representative of the people it serves and the development of programs and services that effectively serve the human resource needs of the public service.

We're looking for a strategic, forward thinking leader to drive Government of the Northwest Territories wide diversity and inclusion initiatives. In this role, you'll lead meaningful change developing programs, advising senior leadership, and creating workforce strategies that reflect the Northwest Territories diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of Government of the Northwest Territories diversity and inclusion strategies
- Advise senior leaders and working groups on inclusive practices
- Manage key programs including Indigenous Recruitment and Retention Programs, Diversity and Inclusion programs, Employee Family Assistance Program and Health & Wellness Programs
- Oversee evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement of Diversity and Inclusion initiatives
- Guide a team dedicated to equity and inclusion across the public service
Key Qualifications:
- A relevant bachelor's degree plus 4 years of related work experience in human resource programming or diversity and inclusion, including at least 1 year of recent supervisory experience.
Equivalencies:
- A relevant college/university diploma plus 6 years of related work experience in human resource programming or diversity and inclusion, including at least 1 year of recent supervisory experience.
- Relevant fields of study can include, but are not limited to, Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Indigenous Studies and Gender Equity/Equity Studies.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $65.25 per hour to $77.95 per hour (approximately $127,238 - $152,003) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
