Job Information
This position is located in the Inuvik Regional Hospital, reporting directly to the Regional Manager Rehabilitation, the incumbent independently provides assessment, diagnostic, rehabilitative and preventative services to inpatients and outpatients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. This position plans, organizes, delivers and evaluates OT services in the hospital (including the Acute Care ward, Long Term Care ward, and the outpatient clinic), the community health centers, group homes, schools, preschools, and clients' homes, all within the Beaufort Delta and the Sahtu regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Knowledge of current OT accepted standards of practice with a broad base of OT experiences.
- Must be sensitive to the cultural, social and regional conditions in order to develop effective programs.
- Must be able to travel to outlying communities via ice road and small aircraft. A valid NWT Driver's license would be considered an asset.
- The ability to educate clients, their families (where applicable) and other health care professionals on appropriate self-management techniques.
Key Qualifications
University degree in Occupational Therapy at a Bachelor's or Master's level, with at least two (2) years of experience. Must be eligible for membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy, and be a professional licensed in any Canadian province as an active member.

Labour Market Supplement
The successful incumbent will receive a $11,000 supplement upon hire and an additional $11,000 supplement after completion of 12 months of continuous employment contingent on remaining employed in an eligible position for a further 12 months. This is a taxable benefit and will be subject to applicable deductions.
Term Position
This job opening is for a one (1) year term.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $54.44 per hour to $65.03 per hour, plus an annual Northern Allowance.
