Department Information
The Department of Executive and Indigenous Affairs works to provide overall management and direction to the Executive branch of the Government of the Northwest Territories. The Department is responsible for: coordinating and supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of initiatives and actions in support of cross-government goals The Department is responsible for ensuring mutually respectful intergovernmental relations between the territorial government and Aboriginal, provincial, territorial and national and international governments are maintained; along with negotiating and implementing land, resources And self-government agreements that address Aboriginal rights in the Northwest Territories.

As a Pathfinder, you'll be at the heart of social service delivery, guiding individuals through complex systems and bridging critical gaps in access and support. The primary purpose of the Pathfinder position is to provide centralized wraparound support and outreach to participants facing complex situations and dealing with multiple issues across various disciplines. Central to the role is offering trauma-informed, culturally safe, and judgment-free assistance.

Key Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to commit to actively upholding and consistently practicing personal diversity, inclusion and cultural awareness, as well as safety and sensitivity approaches in the workplace.
- Knowledge of social determinants of health and wellness and awareness of how these shape health inequities and access to services.
- Familiarity with NWT service structures, delivery models, and sociopolitical environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication and ability to build relationships across stakeholders, including Indigenous governments, non-government organizations, media, and the public
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a Social Science related field combined with one (1) year current case management experience in the Social Services field.
Equivalencies:
- College Diploma in Social Science related field combined with three (3) years current case management experience in the Social Services field.
- Certificate in a Social Science related field combined with four (4) years current case management experience in the Social Services field.
- High School Diploma and five (5) years of current case management experience in the Social Services field.
- All other equivalencies will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
- Examples of relevant fields can include, but are not limited to:
- Criminology
- Education
- Human Services
- Psychology
- Social Work
- Sociology

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $54.44 per hour to $65.03 per hour (approximately $106,158 - $126,809) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
