The Department of Executive and Indigenous Affairs works to provide overall management and direction to the Executive branch of the Government of the Northwest Territories. The Department is responsible for:  coordinating and supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of initiatives and actions in support of cross-government goals The Department is responsible for ensuring mutually respectful intergovernmental relations between the territorial government and Aboriginal, provincial, territorial and national and international governments are maintained; along with negotiating and implementing land, resources And self-government agreements that address Aboriginal rights in the Northwest Territories.

Key Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to commit to actively upholding and consistently practicing personal diversity, inclusion and cultural awareness, as well as safety and sensitivity approaches in the workplace.
• Knowledge of social determinants of health and wellness and awareness of how these shape health inequities and access to services.
• Familiarity with NWT service structures, delivery models, and sociopolitical environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication and ability to build relationships across stakeholders, including Indigenous governments, non-government organizations, media, and the public

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a Social Science related field combined with one (1) year current case management experience in the Social Services field.

Equivalencies:

• College Diploma in Social Science related field combined with three (3) years current case management experience in the Social Services field.
• Certificate in a Social Science related field combined with four (4) years current case management experience in the Social Services field.
• High School Diploma and five (5) years of current case management experience in the Social Services field.
• All other equivalencies will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
