The Instructor for the Personal Support Worker Program is responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating educational programs for adult learners. They teach courses in the PSW program and related health programs, assess program effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
The instructor creates a supportive learning environment and develops programs that meet community needs in the Northwest Territories. They may teach in classrooms, clinical settings, or on-the-land, and could work varied schedules or locations, including community campuses.
They must follow established course standards, maintain up-to-date professional knowledge and certifications, and support student progress through regular reporting. Additionally, they represent the college in the community and contribute to meetings and other non-teaching duties to help achieve institutional goals.
Key Requirements:
- Instructs in assigned courses.
- Develops and routinely revises course materials which relevant, current, and consistent with subject content.
- Delivers courses at off-campus sites and/or through distance learning platforms as needed.
- Undertakes administrative tasks related to the delivery of instructional activities.
- Promote Aurora College activities, maintain public relations and market program activities.
- Contribute to College and program service.
Key Requirements:
- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and three years¿ experience as a Registered Nurse, including one years¿ instructional experience in the field of Nursing in post-secondary, and/or supervising student nurses and/or facilitating learning and instruction in a clinical setting.
- Ability to register with the College and Association of Nurses of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (CANNN).

Salary Information
The salary for this position starts at $59.62 per hour (approximately $58,129.50. per annum) plus a pro-rated annual Northern Allowance of $7.45 per hour.
