Job Information

The Supervisor, Foster Care and Adoption Services (SFCAS) is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of Adoptions, Foster Care Services, and for providing clinical leadership. This position provides direct supervision to the four Foster Care and Adoption Workers in Yellowknife and will report directly to the Manager of Placement Resources, Child and Youth Services.

Key Responsibilities:
-    Provide territorial leadership for foster care and adoption services across the NWT.
-    Advance cultural safety, customary care, and continuous quality improvement in partnership with Indigenous Governments and system partners.
-    Lead engagement with foster caregivers, adoptive parents, communities, and stakeholders to improve service delivery.
-    Oversee recruitment, retention, training, and quality assurance of foster and adoptive resources.
-    Develop, implement, and evaluate training and professional development for FCA staff and foster caregivers.
-    Review, approve, and monitor foster care and adoption documentation, home studies, and outcomes.
-    Provide clinical supervision and ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and court requirements.

Key Qualifications:
-    A Baccalaureate degree in Social Work AND
-    a minimum of three (3) years of foster care and adoption related experience in Child and Family Services AND
-    as one (1) year supervisory experience.

Labour Market Supplement

The successful incumbent will receive a $10,000 supplement upon hire and an additional $10,000 supplement after completion of 12 months of continuous employment contingent on remaining employed in an eligible position for a further 12 months.   This is a taxable benefit and will be subject to applicable deductions

The salary range for this position is from $56.99 per hour to $68.06 per hour (approximately $111,131. - $132,717.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
