Job Information
The Aurora Research Institute Outreach Coordinator involves planning, coordinating, and delivering STEM outreach and public education programs for the Aurora Research Institute, mainly in the South Slave, Akaitcho, and Dehcho regions. Based in Fort Smith and reporting to the South Slave Research Centre Manager, the Outreach Coordinator works with youth, educators, the public, and researchers to provide programming focused on regional science topics. The position also supports staff and partners in delivering outreach initiatives, while building and strengthening partnerships with regional and national organizations.
Key Qualifications:
- Leads the delivery of all STEM outreach activities carried out by Aurora Research Institute.
- Plans, coordinates, implements, and delivers educational outreach programs.
- Manages the communication of research activities to the public.
- Develops proposals, programs and partnerships to ensure the sustainability/growth of science outreach and research communications within the NWT.
Key Requirements:
- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline with 2 years of experience delivering outreach content, instruction, communications, or other public engagement role.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License
Equivalency:
- A diploma in a relevant discipline with 3 years of experience delivering outreach content, instruction, communications, or other public engagement role.
Relevant discipline includes: Science, Technology, Engineering or a Math program.
