Job Information

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is seeking a Senior Network Infrastructure Analyst to join the Technology Service Centre (TSC). In this critical role, you will lead the design, performance, and security of the GNWT¿s highly complex and mission¿critical IP-based Digital Communications Network (DCN), supporting over 6,000 users across 33 communities.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and support network infrastructure operations - Design, implement, monitor, and troubleshoot the GNWT's LAN, WAN, and cloud-based network systems to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Manage network security - Develop and maintain security controls (e.g., firewalls, VPNs), monitor risks, and respond to security incidents to protect GNWT systems and data.
  • Provide technical leadership and project management - Lead complex network projects, provide third¿tier support, and guide team members and stakeholders in delivering solutions.
  • Develop standards, processes, and documentation - Establish and maintain network architecture standards, ITIL-based processes, and clear technical documentation.

Key Qualifications: 

  • A degree in a related Network Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems program and three (3) years of experience in server and network administration, IP data network support and operations. 

Equivalent Education and Experience that may be considered: 

  • A 2-year Diploma in a related Network Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems program and five (5) years of experience in server and network administration, IP data network support and operations. 
  • A degree in a related Network Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems program and a Masters in Computer Science, or Information Systems. Plus one (1) year of experience in server and network administration, IP data network support and operations.

The salary range for this position is from $56.99 per hour to $68.06 per hour (approximately $111,131 - $132,717.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
