Job Information
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated individual to join our team as a Relief Security Guard at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre (PWNHC) in Yellowknife. This position offers an exciting opportunity to protect and preserve the cultural and historical heritage of the Northwest Territories.
As a Relief Security Guard, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety of visitors, staff, and the priceless collections housed at the PWNHC. You will be responsible for monitoring security systems, conducting regular patrols, assisting with first aid and emergency situations, and enforcing museum policies to maintain a safe and secure environment. You will also work closely with a variety of teams, including visitor services, building maintenance, and management.
This is a physically demanding role that requires someone who is able to work in various environmental conditions and can remain calm in emergency situations. Knowledge of security systems, first aid, and emergency response is preferred. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about cultural preservation and providing excellent customer service.
To qualify for this role, you must have completed Grade 10 and have at least two years of relevant experience, particularly in dealing with the public. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered. Standard First Aid and CPR certification is an asset but can be provided on-site.
The PWNHC is a major facility dedicated to protecting the Northwest Territories' archives, museum, and archaeological collections, welcoming around 53,000 visitors per year. The Relief Security Guard is an integral part of ensuring its continued success and safety.

Relief Worker
This job opening is for a Relief position where there are no established hours of work on a daily, weekly or monthly basis and may be required to report to work on an as and when required basis for facilities where services operate on a daily basis throughout the entire year.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $31.58 per hour to $37.74 per hour plus an annual Northern Allowance.
