Job Summary
Department Information
The Department of Infrastructure (INF) provides high quality services to the public and Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) departments, boards and agencies including the planning, design, construction, acquisition, operation and maintenance of public transportation infrastructure and the buildings, works and equipment required for the GNWT to deliver its programs and services. INF makes essential petroleum products available for sale to the public where these products are not provided by the private sector, and promotes the development and increased use of energy efficient technologies. INF also regulates electrical and mechanical safety services and licenses individuals and vehicles operating in the territory.

Job Information
The Facilities Manager located in Hay River, NT. This position is a senior position responsible to plan, administer the maintenance programs and budgets for all government owned and leased buildings, works and equipment in Fort Smith, Hay River, and 5 other communities that make up the Fort Smith Region, also responsible to annually manage regional funding.
Critical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of building operations and maintenance management
- Knowledge of planning and project management
- Knowledge of financial management and contract management
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to deal with changing deadlines and priorities
- Able to demonstrate leadership, initiative and professional judgment.
Typically attained by.
A post-secondary Diploma in Maintenance Management, Engineering Technology or Property Management, enhanced by at least 10 years of progressive experience in contract administration, management of a maintenance program, and building management. The incumbent should also have five years of supervisory experience. Experience in a northern environment would be an asset. The incumbent requires a Class 5 NWT Driver's license to operate motor vehicles
Equivalencies may include
- A Degree in Maintenance Management, Engineering Technology or Property Management, enhanced by at least 8 years of progressive experience in contract administration, management of a maintenance program, and building management. The incumbent should also have five years of supervisory experience. Experience in a northern environment would be an asset. The incumbent requires a Class 5 NWT Driver's license to operate motor vehicles.
- A Red Seal Journeyman certificate enhanced by at least 10 years of progressive experience in contract administration, management of a maintenance program, and building management. The incumbent should also have five years of supervisory experience. Experience in a northern environment would be an asset. The incumbent requires a Class 5 NWT Driver's license to operate motor vehicles.

The salary range for this position is from $65.25 per hour to $77.95 per hour (approximately $127,238 - $152,003.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $4,538
