Department Information
The Department of Finance has the mandate to provide leadership and direction to the public service in all areas of finance and human resource management. This mandate includes negotiating major financial arrangements with the federal government, providing analysis and advice to the Financial Management Board, and ensuring that financial and information resources are managed effectively, efficiently and economically. This mandate also includes the recruitment and retention of a competent public service that is representative of the people it serves and the development of programs and services that effectively serve the human resource needs of the public service.
Job Information
The Northwest Territories Centre for Geomatics (NWTCG) is seeking a Geomatics Officer to support the delivery of geospatial services across the Government of the Northwest Territories.
In this role, you will develop and implement geomatics related projects, data management, provide advice, recommendations and assistance to the Centre's staff, departmental clients, and other governments and agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, develop and implement geomatics and GIS projects.
- Provide operational support on land and mineral tenure.
- Create and maintain geospatial data and databases.
- Perform data management, quality control, and analysis
Key Qualifications:
- Technical diploma in GIS or a related field, with 3 years of directly related experience in client-based GIS services and project management, or
- Bachelor's degree in geography or a geomatics related field, and 1 year of directly related experience in client-based GIS services and project management.
Equivalencies:
- All other equivalencies will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

- Geographic Information Systems

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $49.68 per hour to $59.35 per hour (approximately $96,876 - $115,733) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $ 3,700.
