Department Information

The Department of Infrastructure (INF) provides high quality services to the public and Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) departments, boards and agencies including the planning, design, construction, acquisition, operation and maintenance of public transportation infrastructure and the buildings, works and equipment required for the GNWT to deliver its programs and services. INF makes essential petroleum products available for sale to the public where these products are not provided by the private sector, and promotes the development and increased use of energy efficient technologies.  INF also regulates electrical and mechanical safety services and licenses individuals and vehicles operating in the territory.

Job Information

The Fleet Coordinator is located in Hay River and reports to the Fleet Manager and is responsible for the accurate recording and tracking of information related to a centrally-managed fleet of mobile assets and heavy equipment via an asset maintenance system in support of economical and quality service for the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT).

Critical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance management systems. 
  • Knowledge of the theories and principles of heavy equipment and vehicle operation, preventative maintenance, rehabilitation and repair. 
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data in order to draw conclusions that will assist in decision making. 
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, and use of fleet management software.
  • Ability to train other employees so that they can effectively utilize vehicle maintenance software. 

Typically attained by;

Diploma in business management or related discipline, with two years of experience in data analysis or data management capacity. A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.

Equivalencies may include

  • High school diploma, with (4) four years of experience in data analysis or data management capacity. A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
  • Degree in business management or related discipline, with (1) one year of experience in data analysis or data management capacity. A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.

The salary range for this position is from $47.40 per hour to $56.61 per hour (approximately $92,430 - $110,390.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $4,538.
