Department Information
The Department of Finance has the mandate to provide leadership and direction to the public service in all areas of finance and human resource management. This mandate includes negotiating major financial arrangements with the federal government, providing analysis and advice to the Financial Management Board, and ensuring that financial and information resources are managed effectively, efficiently and economically. This mandate also includes the recruitment and retention of a competent public service that is representative of the people it serves and the development of programs and services that effectively serve the human resource needs of the public service.

The Government of the Northwest Territories is seeking a skilled and curious professional to join our Strategic Human Resources team as a Job Analyst for a 2 year term. This is a unique opportunity to influence how work is structured, classified, and valued across one of Canada's most diverse and complex public sector organizations.
As a Job Analyst, you will work with leaders from across government to understand evolving business needs, analyze organizational structures, and evaluate positions using the Hay Job Evaluation methodology. Your expertise will help ensure jobs are classified consistently, compensation practices remain equitable, and organizational changes support the delivery of quality public services
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and evaluate positions that support the delivery of public services across the Northwest Territories.
- Collaborate with leaders to shape organizational structures and workforce solutions.
- Provide expert advice on classification, compensation, and pay equity matters.
- Lead evaluation discussions and build understanding of job evaluation through training and stakeholder engagement.
Key Qualifications:
- A relevant Bachelor's Degree and 2 years in a relevant field
Relevant field of education may include:
- Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Development
Relevant experience may include:
- Job evaluation, classification, or compensation analysis.
- Human resources advisory services or workforce planning.
- Organizational design, organizational development, or change management.
- Policy analysis, program analysis, or research involving complex evaluation and decision-making

The salary range for this position is from $56.99 per hour to $68.06 per hour (approximately $111,131 - $132,717) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
