The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) is seeking a passionate and skilled Audiologist to join our team in Yellowknife. Unlike many southern roles that focus on a specialty area, this position offers the opportunity to practice across the full scope of audiology, including diagnostics, rehabilitation, hearing technology, infant hearing programs, and community outreach.
You will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, collaborate with physicians and specialists, and help improve the quality of life of children, adults, and seniors across the North. 
 

Reporting to the Territorial Manager, Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, the Audiologist provides diagnostic, treatment, educational, preventative, and consultative audiology services throughout the Northwest Territories.

Key responsibilities include:
-    Conduct comprehensive hearing and vestibular assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
-    Provide counselling and education to patients, families, caregivers, educators, and healthcare professionals.
-    Support and manage components of the Northwest Territories Infant Hearing Program.
-    Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and collaborate with physicians, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, educators, and community providers.
-    Travel to communities throughout the Northwest Territories and Nunavut to provide outreach services.


Key Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
-    Strong knowledge of audiological assessment, diagnosis, rehabilitation, and intervention across the lifespan.
-    Experience working with hearing disorders, hearing technology, and evidence-based clinical practice.
-    Demonstrated ability to provide culturally safe, trauma-informed, patient-centred care.
-    Strong communication, counselling, and relationship-building skills.
-    Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
 

To be successful in this role, typically the above qualifications would be attained by: 
This level of knowledge is typically acquired through the successful completion of a master's degree in Audiology or Doctor of Audiology degree.

Additional Requirements
Audiologists must have provisional professional licensure in any Canadian province and full licensure within six months of hire.
Must be a practicing member of Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC).

The salary range for this position is from $54.44 per hour to $65.03 per hour (approximately $106,158 - $126,809) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
