What is a value at risk?
In wildfire suppression terminology, a value at risk, or VAR, is any feature on the land that could be damaged by fire, such as a cabin or a tent frame.
Why should I register my values at risk?
Letting the Government of the Northwest Territories know about your cabin or value at risk is the first step towards protecting it. It means we can make appropriate decisions to help protect your value in the event of a wildfire.
