Lead Officer - Attached photos of site inspection. Directed contractor (TDC Ltd) to remove impacted soil until hydrocarbon odour could no longer be detected (soil removed by hand and with hydrovac). Once this was complete, approved backfill of excavation with clean soil/gravel. See attached Hazardous Waste Manifest for volumes of recovered fuel and impacted soil (2600L Jet A & 5 yards= 3.82 m3 of soil). Corrective Actions will be to clearly label and identify fill point on tank. This will be done for other ECC-GNWT fuel tank assets as well.

Lead Officer - Attached photos taken during site inspection. Directed contractor (TDC) to remove impacted soil until no hydrocarbon odour could be detected, then approved backfill of excavation with clean soil/gravel. Contractor is a Receiver of Hazardous Wastes, but indicated that recovered fuel from void space and impacted soil would eventually be taken to High Level, AB for ultimate disposal. See attached photo of Hazardous Waste Manifest for volumes (2600L of Jet A & 5 yards=3.82m3 of impacted soil). Corrective Actions will be to clearly label and identify fill location on tank.
