Help Protect Our Waters From Invasive Species!

You may be carrying harmful plants, animals or other aquatic hitchhikers on your watercraft or gear that can damage the environment, the economy, and areas we all enjoy.

After every use, always make sure to inspect and CLEAN, DRAIN, DRY.

CLEAN all plants, animals and mud off your watercraft, trailer and gear.

  • Before leaving the shore, inspect your watercraft and gear and remove plants, animals and mud.
  • Wash your watercraft and gear on dry land away from storm water drains, ditches or waterways.

DRAIN all water from your watercraft, trailer and gear.

  • On land, before leaving the area, drain all water from ballast tanks, bilges, live wells, bait buckets and motor.
  • Pull all drain plugs.

DRY all parts of your watercraft, trailer and gear completely between trips.

  • Leave compartments open to dry.
  • Use a sponge or towel for hard to dry areas.
