Under extreme southerly winds over the last two days, alongside hot, dry conditions, this fire has grown to over 1500 hectares as estimated by satellite detection; visibility has not allowed for a new size-up. Structure protection has been deployed on values in the area – which are within 3km north of the fire. The fire reached deciduous forest and fire behaviour calmed down overnight into the morning. The team will continue a modified response to protect structures in the area using sprinklers and air support as required. No communities or infrastructure are under threat at this time.
