Tłįchǫ Government and GNWT hold first Intergovernmental Meeting of the 18th Assembly

YELLOWKNIFE (April 26, 2016) – Premier Bob McLeod, Grand Chief Eddie Erasmus and Members of the Executive Councils of the Tłįchǫ Government and the 18th Legislative Assembly met together April 21 as agreed to in ‘Working Together – the Tłįchǫ Government/Government of the Northwest Territories Intergovernmental Memorandum of Understanding’(Working Together).

Ministers Responsible for Transportation and Highway Safety announce a new strategy to improve road safety and collaborate to strengthen transportation in Canada

January 28, 2016 – OTTAWA, Ontario – Federal, provincial and territorial Ministers Responsible for Transportation and Highway Safety met today to advance key strategies for strengthening transportation in Canada, including unveiling a new plan to further improve road safety.

First intergovernmental meeting between SSI and GNWT

YELLOWKNIFE (September 25, 2015) – Premier Bob McLeod and Members of Cabinet of the 17th Legislative Assembly met yesterday with Sahtu Secretariat Incorporated Chairperson Ethel Blondin-Andrew, Chiefs and leaders of the Sahtu Land Corporations. 

The meeting between the Sahtu Secretariat Incorporated (SSI) and the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) was an opportunity for two governments to strengthen their working relationship and discuss issues collaboratively.  During the meeting the parties agreed to undertake the following work:

Intergovernmental meeting between Akaitcho Dene First Nation and GNWT

YELLOWKNIFE (September 25, 2015) – Members of Cabinet of the 17th Legislative Assembly and the Akaitcho Dene First Nation met in Yellowknife on September 23, 2015. 

This meeting was an opportunity for collaborative discussion and agreement to work together on shared interest.  During this meeting the parties agreed to undertake the following work:
