Media Advisory: Exhibit opening at PWNHC –"We Took Care of Them: Special Constables of in the NWT"

YELLOWKNIFE (July 31, 2017) – Media are invited to attend the opening of the newest exhibit created by the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre.  Special Constables, guides, interpreters and seamstresses of the North taught early RCMP members invaluable skills that often made the difference between life and death. This Canada 150 exhibit celebrates Indigenous northerners’ contributions to policing and the role they played in the bridging of two cultures.

GNWT to host Bioblitz in five NWT Communities

(Yellowknife, NT – July 26, 2017) - The Government of the Northwest Territories is hosting a unique wildlife survey as part of a nation-wide project to help connect Canadians with nature and showcase the wealth of our biodiversity. This special BioBlitz Canada 150 project is supported by the Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF), and partners in conservation, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Confederation.

Hay River open house and Committee of Cabinet public meeting

YELLOWKNIFE (August 31, 2016) – The public and media are invited to attend a Committee of Cabinet meeting and public open house with the Premier and Cabinet in Hay River as part of the Government of the Northwest Territories commitment to openness and transparency. The Committee of Cabinet will discuss progress on GNWT mandate commitments and hear a presentation from Hybrid Enterprises-Lockheed Martin on airships.
