2022 and 2023 NWT Outstanding Volunteers Honoured

Yellowknife — February 29, 2024

Municipal and Community Affairs (MACA) Minister Vince McKay honoured 2022 and 2023 Northwest Territories (NWT) Outstanding Volunteer Awards recipients during a ceremony in Yellowknife on February 29, 2024.  These annual awards provide an opportunity to show appreciation to volunteers and volunteer organizations for their outstanding contributions in communities across the territory.

Recipients of the 2022 NWT Outstanding Volunteer Awards are:

  • Outstanding Elder Award                 – Diane Haché, Yellowknife
  • Outstanding Individual Award        – Nicole Spencer, Yellowknife
  • Outstanding Group Award               – Yellowknife Ultimate Club Board, Yellowknife

Recipients of the NWT Outstanding Volunteer awards for 2023 include:

  • Outstanding Elder Award                 – Louie Beaulieu, Fort Smith
  • Outstanding Youth Award                – Katelinne Ruben, Paulatuk
  • Outstanding Individual Award        – Tania Hercun, Yellowknife
  • Outstanding Group Award               – Slide Zone Shredderz, Fort Smith

The Government of the Northwest Territories presents the NWT Outstanding Volunteer Awards annually to individuals and groups who have helped improve the quality of life in the NWT through volunteerism.
