YELLOWKNIFE (November 9, 2012) – Sharing his culture, going above and beyond to help visitors explore exciting activities in the area, and a welcoming nature were characteristics noted about Parks Hospitality Award winner Raymond Michaud.
Presenting the 2012 award at the NWT Tourism Gala and Awards Dinner last night, Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment David Ramsay commended Mr. Michaud for his dedication to the tourism industry.
“Raymond Michaud is an ideal example of an outstanding parks employee who gives superior service and helps to ensure visitors get the very best experience in the NWT’s beautiful parks and campgrounds,” said Minister Ramsay. “I want to personally thank Raymond for his extra effort and consideration as a representative of the Northwest Territories and of our tourism industry.”
The Gala dinner was the closing event for the NWT Tourism Annual General Meeting and Conference held in Yellowknife November 6 – 8.
The Parks Hospitality Award was created in 2005 to recognize people who exhibit extraordinary hospitality and service in NWT parks and visitor centres.
Parks and visitor centre staff are nominated for the award by visitors to the territory. Nomination forms are available at visitor centres, parks and campgrounds across the NWT.
