The deadline has been extended for legal and medical professionals to apply to serve on the NWT Mental Health Act Review Board.

The Board reviews matters involving involuntary admission under the Mental Health Act. Members bring legal or medical expertise to support fair and timely hearings.

Legal members must be lawyers in good standing who are eligible to practice in the Northwest Territories, or in Canada. Medical Members must be licenced medical practitioners who are eligible to practice in Canada. All applicants must be able to attend hearings, fulfill required background checks, and meet contract requirements.

The extended deadline to apply is June 15, 2026.
