Department of Health and Social Services Releases Results of the Addiction Recovery Experiences Survey

Public Service Announcement

Yellowknife — November 24, 2021

The Department of Health and Social Services (HSS) yesterday released a report titled Addiction Recovery Experiences Survey – Results and Analysis. The report provides feedback from individuals, and their families, who used NWT recovery services on their recovery journey.

The survey data was collected between February 15 and March 31, 2021. HSS received 439 responses, with respondents demonstrating high levels of satisfaction with existing services, and a desire for more service options to be made available in communities and regional centres. The additional services include inpatient detox services and community-based detox service options, as well as options for families to attend treatment together.

The results of this survey will be used in the continuous quality improvement of the mental wellness and addictions recovery system, and where applicable, will be included in the development of the NWT Alcohol Strategy.
