ENR Minister to Present at International Water Conference

November 15, 2010 - Environment and Natural Resources Minister J. Michael Miltenberger is in Buenos Aires, Argentina to participate in the Seventh Biennial Rosenberg International Forum on Water Policy.

Minister Miltenberger will be making a presentation on the “Importance of Traditional Knowledge” at the “Water for the Americas:  Challenges and Opportunities” conference.

He will outline the Northwest Territories’ perspective on integrating traditional knowledge into research, policy development and decision-making at the local, regional and territorial level as demonstrated in the Northwest Territories Water Stewardship Strategy and other initiatives.

He is in Argentina on the invitation of the Rosenberg International Forum on Water.

The Rosenberg International Forum on Water Policy facilitates the exchange of information and experience in the management of water resources around the world.

The Forum is held every other year in different locations around the world. Participation is limited to no more than 50 water scholars and senior water managers. Interactive discussions about the science of water management and different experiences in water management around the globe are at the heart of the Forum.

Minister Miltenberger will be available for interviews following his return from Argentina.
