The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is now accepting new applications for the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program (EVIP). This funding supports the installation of EV charging stations in public places, workplaces, multi-unit residential buildings, and for light-duty fleet use across the Northwest Territories.
The program provides financial assistance to qualified organizations, covering up to 50% of the total eligible costs of installing new EV charging infrastructure. The program is designed to make EV adoption more accessible in the North by improving access to reliable charging networks.
Funding amounts include:
- Up to $7,500 for Level 2 charger connectors
- Up to $99,999 for Level 3 fast chargers
The program is open to:
- Businesses and industries
- Indigenous governments and Indigenous organizations
- Community governments
- Not-for-profit and for-profit organizations
- Utilities, academic institutions, and GNWT agencies or Crown corporations
This initiative supports the GNWT’s 2030 Energy Strategy and is funded in partnership with the Government of Canada through the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP).
