The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) has introduced the Emerging Entrepreneurs Business Mentorship Program to provide entrepreneurs in the Northwest Territories (NWT) with the opportunity and financial support to gain valuable skills in business, leadership, and networking from an experienced business mentor.
The program will enable mentees to learn how to:
- Develop business plans;
- Understand financial management, accounting and audit processes;
- Identify potential sources of capital or funding;
- Gain first-hand knowledge of industry best practices and how they apply to their business;
- Expand business networks; and
- Increase their overall business capacity and confidence.
Mentorships will be delivered through the Catalyste+ Organization and its network of executive-level volunteers with decades of specialized business knowledge and expertise in a wide range of business-related disciplines.
Applications are now being accepted until May 31, 2023.
Quote(s)
“New entrepreneurs have ideas to meet and address challenges that they have encountered, and to create new opportunities and niches in the Northwest Territories ever-diversifying economy. However, new ideas are not always accompanied by experience. This program will bridge the gap between entrepreneurial spirit and the wisdom of experience to fortify the next generation of small and medium business owners.”
- Caroline Wawzonek, Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment
