GNWT releases Full of Feelings book in celebration of International Literacy Day

Public Service Announcement

Yellowknife — September 14, 2022

To celebrate International Literacy Day the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is pleased to launch the children’s book, Full of Feelings, in many of the Northwest Territories’ (NWT) official languages.

This book, written and illustrated in the Northwest Territories (NWT), is a resource for families with young children to offer understanding of the importance of their feelings and emotions. The book also offers ways families can help children with their emotions.

Providing the book in Indigenous languages supports language revitalization and encourages children to learn and speak Indigenous languages at home.

Licensed early learning and child care programs across the NWT will receive copies of the children’s book for use in their programs as well as to distribute to the families in their programs. The books will also be sent to Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten classroom and community libraries throughout the NWT.

Download a free copy of the book in the language of your choice at www.ece.gov.nt.ca/self-regulation.
